On behalf of the Cohort Innovation Space team, we want to take this moment to celebrate the #CohortCommunity and the wonderful 2022 wins that were shared in the space. As ooey and gooey as it sounds, the space would not be the same without our giving community.
Whether that be participating in community events, providing hours of mentoring, sharing findings with a fellow neighbour, flagging current affairs on our Slack channel, or providing coffee tips in the kitchen – it’s those everyday community moments that makes the space so special.
In other words: You make us feel like Mondays aren’t Mondays.
Ok enough of that heart warming stuff. Here’s your shake up on the programs and events for the year of 2022 with your Cohort crew.
It goes without saying but Cohort Innovation Space was a super activated space this year! In 2022 we had around 100 events, workshops, meetups, conferences, panels, and demo nights. Including about 500 hours of 1-1 mentoring sessions and 35,000 cups of coffee (yes, you read right).
The Cohort team also delivered the LuminaX Health Accelerator for the second year running that comprised of 35 mentors, 20 workshops, $500K in-kind resources + $500K in capital invested. Checkout the LuminaX 2022 Cohort here.
We also ran our pre-accelerator program Start Club that wrapped up the pitch night. Checkout the Start Club Cohort here.
Besides our peer sharing platform with scaleup founders and opportunity to learn from each other, we also had a wicked Founders Club Retreat out in Nymboida River.
And last but not least, we had Gold Coast Startup Grind events throughout the year. Checkout our Gold Coast Chapter with all the events listed here.
Plus the Meetups! There were so many wonderful meetups that happened in the year of 2-0-2-2 but notably, we want to give a shout out to Gold Coast Product Tank events that were co-organised by Greg Le Sueur, Brent Lacey, and Taylah Brown. Together their team finished off with a HUGE meetup session with Carly Daff, Head of Product from Canva. What a way to finish up the year!
In amongst the activation of the space, Cohort Innovation Space has also grown with an additional 8 private offices and a large 8-person meeting room, making it one of Queensland’s largest innovation hubs.
As the space continues to grow, so does the number of startups, scaleups, SMEs and industry experts in the space meaning that – you can say hello to a new way of working in 2023.
With only a handful of offices left remaining in the building, our applications are now open to work in the grooviest office spaces on the Gold Coast.
