Founders from the LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator recently had the privilege of showcasing their healthtech startups to some of Australia’s top health executives and clinical minds at the Mater x LX HealthTech Demonstration event in Brisbane.

As a leader in Queensland’s healthcare sector, Mater is committed to providing compassionate patient care and driving excellence through innovation and research. To support this vision, Mater has partnered with Australian HealthTech Accelerator, LuminaX, offering mentorship, feedback, validation, and industry connections to LX startups and alumni.

The partnership, now in its second year, demonstrates Mater’s unwavering commitment to innovation and its proactive role in driving advancements in healthcare.

Four startups travelled interstate to Queensland for the invite-only event, joining with six South-East Queensland startups to pitch in front of 40 Mater executives, clinicians, and health experts in the areas of cancer, psychology, maternity, and policy among others.

During the healthtech demonstration, the audience had the opportunity to glimpse into the future of healthcare and witness advancements in early child development practices, hypothermia prevention, and PTSD care utilising VR technologies. Throughout the LuminaX Accelerator, founders have undergone intense workshops and mentorship to accelerate their path to commercialisation.

The Mater x LX HealthTech Demonstration was just one opportunity provided by the accelerator, offering startups the opportunity to pitch for clinical validation and feedback in a hospital setting.

Many startups have already commenced ongoing discussions with Mater representatives and clinicians, discussing further collaborative opportunities and receiving more detailed feedback on their innovative health solutions.

The LuminaX HealthTech Accelerator would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Maree Knight, Mater’s Director of Innovation, for her active involvement in our LuminaX HealthTech community.

We are grateful for her participation in demo night, meet the mentors, online mentoring, and for providing opportunities for startups to pitch in Brisbane. We also extend our gratitude to the Mater executive team and clinicians for attending the event and celebrating the next generation of innovative health technologies in Australia.
