Australia’s leading healthtech accelerator, LuminaX, is marking its fifth anniversary in 2025, continuing its mission to propel health startups towards commercial success.
LuminaX is delivered with support from our partners: Economic Development Queensland, the City of Gold Coast, and QIC, alongside leading industry partners, Griffith University, Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, intelliHQ, and the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.
Born out of Cohort Innovation Space, the accelerator has played a crucial role in validating and scaling early-stage startups developing innovative solutions for the healthcare sector.
Over the past four years, LuminaX has accelerated 42 startups, delivering 50+ workshops, 1,600+ hours of mentorship with 50 mentors, and facilitating 300 meaningful connections. They have hosted over 1,000 attendees at their in-person Demo Days and have supported the startups in securing $24M in funding through VC partners, angel investors, and syndicates.
LuminaX has attracted startups from across Australia, including Melbourne, Sydney, and Sunshine Coast, with 90% of alumni reporting at least x3 growth.
In 2025, ten selected startups will undergo the 14-week program and gain access to over $50,000 in in-kind support, including workspace at Cohort Innovation Space, personalised mentorship and coaching, investments, connections to industry partners providing direct market access, and 14 expert-led workshops covering various topics such as investment readiness.
This year, the accelerator has observed rising interest from startups in MedTech, SportsTech, and WellnessTech, highlighting the evolving landscape of health innovation. Entrepreneurs looking to take their healthtech ventures to the next level are encouraged to apply before the deadline on March 7, 2025, at 5PM AEST.
