Cohort Innovation Space has marked an extraordinary year of growth and impact, delivering programs, events, and initiatives that have strengthened the Gold Coast startup ecosystem.
Over the past 12 months, Cohort hosted its biggest InvestFest yet, attracting over 400 attendees across seven activities over two days, featuring 26 venture capitalists and more than 175 one-on-one investor meetings.
The innovation hub also launched its first HealthTech Summit, welcoming 150 participants and 10 industry-leading speakers. In addition, Cohort engaged with 10 local schools through the Mayor’s Technology and Innovation Awards, inspiring the next generation of innovators.
Cohort celebrated five years of LuminaX, this year the program delivered over 400 mentoring hours, 20 workshops, and a Demo Night attended by more than 300 people. Since participating, LuminaX startups have achieved threefold venture growth, launched seven pilots, and 80% are now investor-ready.
The launch of the NextGen Student Incubator saw over 130 students engaged in an accelerator, two-day hackathon, three office hours, a networking mixer, and two study tours.
Investors introduced through Cohort programs have contributed over $1 million in capital, with another $5 million expected in the coming year. Cohort’s workspace has also been in high demand, with over 2,900 meeting room bookings – the green meeting room proving to be the most popular.
The innovation hub further expanded its industry impact with the launch of Amplify Tech, supporting six established technology companies.
Cohort Innovation Space extends its gratitude to its partners and supporters, particularly the Queensland Government through Economic Development Queensland, whose support has been instrumental in delivering meaningful impact. “This space truly wouldn’t be the same without our community of supporters, participants, and innovators,” said the team.
As 2025 comes to a close, Cohort looks forward to building on this momentum and continuing to foster innovation across the Gold Coast and beyond.
