On Thursday 27 July Cohort Innovation Space held one of the largest startup events on the Gold Coast at Miami Marketta, LX DEMO NIGHT! With the event selling out 1 week before kickoff and scoring over 300 livestream viewers online, the event truly was a celebration of the founder’s achievements paired with delicious beers and a food truck feast.
Although the 14 week LX HealthTech Accelerator program has come to a close, we know it’s not the end for the 10 healthtech founders as they continue to celebrate some massive wins post program.
After 300 hours of mentoring with notable names such as Vu Tran the co-founder of Go1, startup successor Dean McEvoy, and industry leader Maree Knight from Mater – we are sure the provided connections will continue to develop and grow.
It’s difficult to encapsulate the hard work and dedication that the 15 founders have undergone in the program. With some founders flying in from Melbourne and Sydney, the specially curated workshops accompanied with back-to-back mentoring sessions kept the participants engaged and on track to achieve their personal LX milestones.
In the accelerator each startup was paired with a coach that saw them through from week 1 to week 14 based on their needs in the LX program. Team Annie Flamsteed, team Nic Blair, team Kevlin Ross and team Tim Walmsley dedicated several hours to support each startup till they hit the LX stage.
With 10 pitches on the big night and a sneaky Dr Corn, there were 3 special awards given out on the night.

The LX Startup of The Year Award 🏆
The LX Startup of The Year prize was awarded to the most transformative and dedicated startup in the program. This esteemed recognition was presented to the startup that has benefited from the available resources and made the most of the continuous support offered by LX. Congratulations to Dianne Shanley, Erinn Hawkins, and Wei Liu, the co-founders of YourTrack who won the LX Startup Of The Year prize for 2023!

Fans Favourite Prize 🎤
Who pulled your heart strings? Who had the grooviest slides? Who made you laugh? Whether you joined us in person at Demo Night or tuned in from the comfort of your home, the people had the chance to vote for their fave. Congratulations to Anna Lumb the founder of Nursify who took out the Fans Favourite award!

The Parny Award 🚀
A cash investment prize was awarded by one of our biggest LX supporters, and someone who has invested in one startup for every LX cohort thus far, Dr Alan Parnham. Congratulations to Tia Cummins and Pete Martin, the co-founders of Flintworks who won the Parny Prize investment!

With a big round of applause from the 250 in the room, Program Director Dren Xerxa was excited to share the growth that LuminaX has seen throughout the years and what it has evolved to be.
“We are determined to help build the healthech ecosystem and believe that LX Health is the next wave in elevating Australian healthtech startups.” – Dren Xexa, Program Director.
